Mute Points

Has anyone else heard people say "It's a mute point"? Is it an East Anglian thing (hypercorrection?) or is it more general?

  1. I have certainly heard it spoken in Norfolk as 'Thass a mewt poiynt', but I wouldn't say it's a common expression. Perhaps we would just say 'Yar don't need wurry yarself 'bout that' :)

  2. Probably a much more sensible way of looking at it.
